After breakfast, set off from Kampala to Jinja which is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Eastern region of Uganda.
Make a stop at the Namawojolo fruit market, buy fruits, enjoy roadside barbecue of goat, beef and chicken.
Drive through Mabira forest where several forest bird species and some primates such as Colubus monkeys can be spotted. The open skies above the vast green plantations of sugarcane and tea are an amazing sight as you go along.
Arrive at the famous Owen Falls Dam constructed as early as 1954 on the River Nile. Cross the new picturesque Source of the Nile Bridge, Africa’s fifth longest.
Drive on to Masese fishing village, interact with the fishermen and see the Nile Perch and Tilapia fresh from Lake Victoria.
Proceed to Ripon falls and see the source of River Nile. The source of the Nile is in Lake Victoria and you will notice that while the water of the lake and the river are one, the motion on both waters is different.
The side of the river flows fast downstream and the spot at which it begins to flow from the lake is called the source.
Lunch out in one of the restaurants in Jinja town. It is a lovely calm town with an old industrial setting and early 90’s Indian architectural designs. In the afternoon take a tour to Itanda falls and Busowoko falls along River Nile. Proceed to Jinja sailing club and relax on the shores of Lake Victoria.
Visit Nile Breweries that makes Nile Beer (probably Uganda’s most celebrated beer, very popular with tourists).
Return to Kampala in the evening.
